3. Advertising
Advertising can seem like a glamorous career path, filled with creativity, and big-budget campaigns. In reality, it’s an incredibly competitive field with limited jobs. With so many people pursuing advertising degrees, there’s a massive oversupply of graduates for the number of openings each year.
On top of that, the pay isn’t as high as you might expect, especially starting out. Many entry-level advertising roles have mediocre salaries for the amount of work expected.
Coupled with high stress, demanding hours, and constant job insecurity, it’s an uphill battle to establish yourself. Unless you’re truly exceptional, an advertising degree alone won’t make you a Madison Avenue superstar overnight.
